Once upon a time…

Lewis Lazar is a painter, Christopher Willatt is a mathematician. They have both been writing music since they were kids and friends in Brussels, Belgium. They grew up to pursue different things in different countries; Lewis explored poetry and song in New York and Chris wrote music and ran underground cabarets in Edinburgh. They reunited in Paris in 2017 to begin writing anew together and reinvented themselves as the ‘Oracle Sisters’ Julia Johansen, from Finland, who had just landed in Paris with her guitar and songs of her own joined them with harmonies and her secret talent on the drums. Oracle Sisters soon attracted a family of artists and friends who helped shape and support their sound. Their music has been described as ‘music to make love to’ (Dorion Fiszel)

We had the honor of welcoming this musical trio for an artist residency at Riad Jardin Secret
Since we came across theirs tunes, we knew within the first ten seconds that it was something really special. Their approach to a dream-pop movement lucid dream, infusing true life events through a free flowing, melodic track,inspired by a blend of influences from art and cinema to philosophy and mythology.

Oracle Sisters - Riad Jardin Secret - Marrakech

We listened to them literally every day until they arrived at the riad for ten days of residence.
The goal was to help them shoot two or three of their videos clips for the release of their new album.

As we have been living in Marrakech for 7 years, and we are always looking for adventure and authenticity, we took them filmed in exceptional and hidden places around Marrakech, like the Zaouia of Tameslhot is definitely out of time. It amazes with its architecture and its authenticity and captivates all those who, like us, dare to enter it.
Led Zepplin and his friends, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant even shot one of their music videos there, Wah Wah, with a troupe of Gnaouas, in the summer of 1993.
