Maia Bunge
Maia was born in Buenos Aires and raised in the hills of Córdoba, Argentina. A landscape composed of green and blue, of water and light. She has been a nomad since youth, and two years ago, after travelling for some time throughout Europe and Africa, she decided to settle down in Paris. Maia believes that work activates and accompanies metamorphosis and that is why she sees it both as a reflection of her soul and as an exploration of her interests. She plays with time and space, blending cultures to create her own imagined ones. She explores different materials and works with mixed techniques, using ink, watercolor, pencil, pastels, collage and also digital tools. Her worlds flow around the idea of an earthly paradise with winged creatures, distant galaxies and luxuriant rooms sown with exotic elements. She proposes to erase the lines of norm so as to create a perspective in which the present is a cutout of reality and therefore free from it.
