Marin Montagut
It all started with the “Bonjour Paris!” guide Marin Montagut designed as a real treasure map of the most beautiful spots in the city, those that only true Parisians know. The concept was then applied to various remarkable places around the world and published by Flammarion.
“Under the roofs of Paris”, the decoration book that Marin Montagut co-wrote with Inès de la Fressange (translated into 5 languages) is published in 2018 and invites the reader to tour 15 typical Parisian apartments. In 2019, he designed, hosted and produced the show MAPS on the channel Paris Première, a chic tv magazine in which we discover his secret spots across Paris.
Marin Montagut has never accepted to be tied up into labels as his only bound is to his freedom to create, inspired by the world around him. However, after 15 years of adventures around the world and collaborations with the most beautiful French houses (Pierre Frey, Diptyque, Roger Vivier, the Château de Versailles…), the explorer and collector of rare objects and beautiful stories launches his eponymous brand and opens his first store in June 2020 at 48 rue Madame in the 6th district of Paris, a few steps away from the legendary Luxembourg Garden.
“I wanted to create a store in which the visitor would dream and travel to an ancient Paris, the one where every little detail made a difference.”
As always, ideas surge while he is strolling, especially in Paris. Marin Montagut declares his love of Paris through his collections, which celebrate through elegant and accurate depictions the various districts of the capital. The eponymous brand Marin Montagut returns to its roots and injects the aesthetic of Parisian “art of life” in everyday objects.
“I create the objects that I feel missing in my daily life,” explains Marin Montagut, “in a true and simple manner”.
